From her schooling in America to returning to her birthplace of Australia as an adult, Victoria’s path hasn’t always been conventional.
Her family’s capital investment organisation, Wollemi Capital Group Syndicate (WCGS), became co-owners of Hoops Capital in Sydney in 2022.
With gender equality an important pillar of what they’re about, WCGS saw first hand that it wasn’t a level playing field for basketball in Australia, so they decided to do something about it.
WCGS, of which Victoria is CEO, have now become part of a majority ownership group for the WNBL, determined to elevate Australia’s longest running women’s sporting league and its amazing athletes. Victoria’s story is an example that you don’t have to be an elite athlete to have a huge impact on the sporting landscape by using your platform to effect change.
