Young Makes Aussie Cross Country Ski History
The 22 year old has claimed the nation’s first ever medal in international Cross Country skiing
There were emotional scenes in Italy on Saturday as 22 year old Sydneysider Rosie Fordham became the first Australian to win a medal in Cross Country skiing at the Under 23 World Championships.
Rosie crossed the line with the second fastest time in the 10km Interval Free event in Schilpario, where emotions overflowed as she realised the enormity of her he achievement.
The result is a huge achievement for Cross Country skiing in Australia, with fellow Aussie skier Emily Champion telling HER WAY,
“The Australian ‘XC’ community are beside themselves at the moment with this result! Going to change Aussie XC skiing for sure!”
Rosie is currently based in the US, where she studies at the University of Alaska.
