It’s Just (Indoor) Cricket!
As the 2024 National Indoor Cricket Championships get underway in Melbourne, two of the sport’s players have combined to create the sport’s ultimate resource.

When South Australian Taylah Gregory and Queenslander Chelsea Gan were having dinner with the Australian Indoor Cricket Under 22 squad in September last year, they lamented the lack of resources available about the sport’s past and current players.
Rather than complain and wait for someone to do something about it, they took matters into their own hands and, with the assistance of some of the sport’s past players and administrators, set about creating an online hub for Australian Indoor Cricket.
“You have never been able to search the internet and find information about indoor cricket in one place. You have never been able to find the first captains of Australia, or who is in the Hall of Fame, or who has represented each state or territory. The Australian Indoor Cricket Collection has fixed this”, Taylah told HER WAY.
“The Collection brings together information on every player and offical from every state and territory, every national tournament and Australian tour of every year since 1984, as well as state and territory history, statistics, awards and rules. Indoor cricket has a rich history in this country, and it does not deserve to be invisible.”
This week the two creators will be opponents on the pitch, when Chelsea’s Queensland looks to defend their senior Australian title as the National Championships get underway on Saturday 29th June at Casey Stadium in Melbourne’s outer suburbs. Monday evening will see Taylah and Chelsea go head-to-head when South Australia take on the defending champs.
The 2024 champions will be decided when the Senior Women’s Grand Final takes place on Saturday 6th July at 1:00pm, while the best young talent will also be on show with national tournaments for U22, U18, U16 and U14 age groups.
