Biggest Para Archery Team in 40yrs Heads to Paris
VIDEO: Meet the three women who will be shooting for gold at the Paris Paralympics.
Australia will be sending its biggest Para Archery team to the Paris Paralympics, with a group of six - three women and three men - to wear the green and gold.
All three will be attending their first Paralympics in Para Archery, but for one it’s a second games after winning a medal at the last Paralympics in a different sport.
Amanda Jennings was a Para Canoe athlete, but was forced to give away sport after injury forced her hand. Melissa Tanner was also a paddler who was in line for the 2016 Rio Paralympics before injury curtailed her career, with Para Archery giving her a second chance at becoming a Paralympian.
And then there’s Ameera Lee, who had a lengthy career in combat sport until her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis saw her change sporting careers in her forties.
All three have inspiring stories and attitudes, and you can learn more about them in the interviews below from the team announcement in June.
