Artwork for Matildas Mural Revealed
A giant artwork will display at the venue of some of the Matildas’ 2023 World Cup performances
The artwork which will be transformed into a giant 57 metre immersive mural commemorating the Matildas’ performance at the home 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup was revealed today at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.
The design by artist Kirthana Selvaraj will be projected along the exterior of the Cathy Freeman stand side of Stadium Australia at Sydney Olympic Park, the venue for the Matildas’ opening match of the World Cup, plus their Round of 16 win over Denmark and semi final against England.
20323 Matilda squad member Kyah Simon and NSW Premier Chris Minns (pictured below) were among those on hand for the announcement. It’s the first of what will be a series of murals to commemorate some of the greatest moments in sport and entertainment at the venue.
